Song of Solomon is a beautiful scripture basically about the passion and love between a husband and wife. Chapter 2 verse 3 is pretty poetry that contradicts the prudes pushing an ascetic chastity. So long as sex is in marriage, is engaged in willingly, lovingly, and joyfully, it is a blessing.
All of Song of Solomon is pretty poetry describing passion in love and some poetry describing certain sex acts forbidden by the Catechism.
Thank you friend, although this world is full of perversions, our image is in God. Passion and desire are parts of Love. With the caveat I put in that we have to be careful with it. Greek and Hebrew translations have been altered at their very core, the words lust and the greek pornia the meanings have been altered by Rome to suit them. Like I stated earlier I will not preach it but a quick glance at church teachings say "pornography didnt exist so it cant be specifically condemned.. BUT IT IS CONDEMNED" and so on.. it ABSOLUTELY existed from the dawn of humans up through Jesus time and up till now. A quick look at history and a check in linguistics blows the "norm" totally out of the water. And yes the Song of songs does show a passionate marriage. Also with a man with multiple wives, which was never condemned or commanded yet the church will tell you....
I disagree with respect to the multiple wives part. That got covered in Genesis and again when Christ talked about creation and adultery. We aren't meant to have multiple wives. That said, Solomon was not damned for his philandering ways but his kingdom did suffer for it.
Certainly welcome to disagree, this is the part im working out right now, I really dont want multiple wives 1 is too many lol. I have lost trust watching preachers mandate vax and masks as well as blatent lies from the bible proclaiming to be the guiders of sheep.
With respect to preachers, trust, and lies, I'm right there with you.
A buddy of mine in the SDA (I'm not SDA, used to attend) informed me the SDA corporate church will not even allow the use of their letterhead for religious exemption letters. This, after that organization insists on tithes and offerings.
That same organization has as one of its fundamental beliefs, that one should abstain from alcohol. This despite Deuteronomy 14:26, the repeated wine offerings of the Old Testament, the wedding party at Caina, etc.
This same organization in whose hospitals abortions were performed for over 50 years and who only recently (October 2019) took an official stance on abortion.
This same organization who took over 50 years to take an official stance on homosexuality.
When it comes to hypocritical pastors who want to collect tithes but don't bother to take a moral stance on anything, yeah. I'm right there with you.
