More context: Revelation 18:17-20. 17: for in one hour such great wealth has been laid waste!’ And every shipmaster and every passenger and sailor, and as many as to make their living by the sea, stood at a distance, 18: and were crying out as they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, ‘What city is like the great city?’ 19: “And they threw dust on their heads and were crying out, weeping and mourning, saying, ‘Woe, woe, the great city, in which all who had ships at sea became rich by her wealth, for in one hour she has been laid waste!’ 20: “Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you saints and apostles and prophets, because God has pronounced judgment for you against her.”
Shanghai Port is the largest, busiest port in the world. It is an exit and entry point for much of what China provides to the rest of the world. Consumerism has been sold to the world, especially the west, with the cheap (slave) labor in china that the world just cant seem to get enough of. The world has quite literally been made drunk on its ability to mass produce anything for cheap cheap.
The modern port that spawned a great empire, which has now fallen and no longer rules the waves, is London. New York and Shanghai are candidates, New York has regressed, but imo London is a better fit for Babylon.
That's a traditional one. Like London its empire is fallen. It just seems like if it was the fall of the Roman empire, something should have happened by now.. But it courld also be the fall of the Vatican, which has certainly been in bed with the kings of the world.

All due respect, nowadays this text seems to refer a lot more to the CCP China than anything.

24 And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.
Only one entity meets this criteria, only one. The 4th beast and the harlot church it begat.
They don't kill saints in Los Angeles.
I think Rome has the market cornered on murdered saints.
PRAISE BE!
Under his eye.
Unsure what this reference is. Can you explain?
Ship of state. There's also a pretty bizarre theory that the whole country is actually under maritime law. Have fun with that.
We have always been under admiralty and maritime law. It is codified in the constitution in fact. That was the law before the constitution.
I have nothing to dispute it.
Maybe if they all sink.
Glad to see you. Great post! I hope and pray all is well.

Rome.
Roman paganism, which influences Catholicism, including to Sunday worship, traces its ruits back to Babylon.
Sometime look up the various pagan trinities.

I can't wait for the whole west coast to just return to the sea.
