Somewhere I read that the surcharge is $100/ day, + $100 each additional day. So day 1 = $100, day 2 = $200, day 3 = $300 etc. Could get pretty pricey.
I don't think it'll drive up hyperinflation. The lack of supply will already do this.
I think it will convince shippers to avoid Los Angeles port and start considering other ports. You'll probably see an economic impact on L.A. county and California overall. Would not be surprised if California economy heads into a recession shortly following this move.

That'll be the only thing driving. Calif has already shut out independent drivers from getting any of the business.
