80% of people in stores don't wear masks.
No restaurants or businesses require masks. Most of the time, employees don't wear them either. Nobody at all gives you trouble one way or another. I believe most people here are just sick and tired of the subject, so you rarely even hear Covid mentioned.
Also, there aren't any restrictions on people, vaxed or not.
I was at an HEB Grocery an hour ago. No mask, but most others weren't wearing one too. Nobody cares.
Went to Walgreens, same thing.
No bar or restaurant even mentions it anymore, like it's entirely optional. The only places uptight about it are doctor's offices and hospitals. They still require masks, no arguing. No government offices of post offices require it.
Only places that care are gov buildings / services (so metro busses) and hospitals. At LBJ the triage area was hard-line masks but once your test comes back as negative they don't give a shit. They only check temp and ask if you have covid symptoms before entering triage area and test you once you finally get a bed. Many places of employment still force employees to wear them so your server will be masked but I'm guessing the ones who don't wear them were vaccinated considering a majority of employees will be masked with only the most danger haired liberals waking around without lowered O2 levels. If the establishment is chill you'll just see them with nose exposed or the classic chin diaper. Most of the places where they offer free testing are deserted unlike last year that had lines so long they were fucking up traffic. I went to Sam's twice in the same week they changed policy about letting the impure bloods walk around mask free. It tripped me out because the little tyrants lost their power over night. Warp speed did it's job for Houston.
Edit: Ah looks like the gov stuff might have changed recently. That's good to hear. Been a hot minute since we had to do gov work and my friend who rides metro hasn't been around for a while, but every time I scooped him up from a bus stop he had it on and said ppl would get kicked off or refused service if they fought it. It's also plastered on the side of the bus still lol. I knew he banned vax mandates but didn't realize he banned masks as well.
I live NE of Houston.
