I could not take horomone replacement because I have the BRCA gene so I kind of had to wing it and the docs gave me antidepressants. Chemo stops everything. I was so happy when my chemo was done and my menstrual cycle came back. People would say to me, you are lucky to not have your cycle anymore. Yeah, lucky. I will look for a homeopathic MD or osteopathic MD. Again, thank you so much.
The bioidentical compounded hormones are less of a risk than the traditional pharmaceuticals. Also, the toxic estrogenic effects have been linked to low levels of DIM which is a dimer of indole-3-carbinol. Either one is available at health food stores and should be taken if there is a history of hormonally driven cancers - especially breast cancer. Not all estrogens are bad - it only a couple of the metabolites that are harmful and both of these products can help the body clear them helping to reduce future risk. Also, look into thermal imaging instead of traditional mammograms. If you irradiate breast tissue enough, you will cause cancer. This is another reason why vitamin D levels need to be in the optimal range well above what most clinicians accept. Sub-optimal levels of vitamin D are linked to increased risk of breast cancer and poor outcomes.
So glad to hear you are on the other side of the chemo. That is nasty. Are you familiar with the Bollingers - the truth about cancer? They have some great information about prevention and treatments. Worth the look.
I had radiation as well. I think it was 6 weeks. I am taking 4,000 IU of D3. My breast tissue is so thin from the radiation and reconstruction surgery I had. Cancer treatment is so barbaric. Both of my breast are gone and I have implants. The only mammogram I ever had is the initial one, otherwise I don't get any type of imaging on my breasts. I just get my exam from Oncology. I never heard of the Bollingers, I will look into that for sure. So glad there are good people on this board.
