Thank you, swimkin. I'm gaining even more respect for the Catholic persons I know. Though I'm not sure I could ever transform from Protestant to Catholic, I admire your fidelity to your faith. You guys have been faithful under some recently extraordinary circumstances. Maybe all of us have.
Shame on me for thinking that all Popes were / are of the caliber of John Paul II. But I am NOT able to come to terms with the information disclosed in the video. How can such a thing be possible?
To the good, we Protestants and you Catholics have Christ our Lord and most of His Holy Word in common - and probably much more that I never think about. We can agree to disagree (or not) about the rest.
I took a bible course from a guy in my neighborhood a few years back who was once Catholic and became a Southern Baptist. He made the bible come alive. I didn't ever want to miss any of his teachings so I went every week.
Funny thing is there were a number of us who attended who were Catholic including a Black couple who converted from Southern Baptist. The wife was a friend and a leader in my local Catholic church.
Sadly, both she and the guy who taught the course have since passed away from cancer within a year apart (both died before COVID). I really miss his teaching and her smiling face, too!
This is not the first bad pope, a bad pope burned the Templars (literally and figuratively) so the corrupt king in France didn't have to pay them back war loans.
That pope was coincidentally the king's younger brother.
As long as it's men involved, it will be an imperfect affair, still it is the organization that we believe is blessed by God to stand the test of time and support all the faithful, even with all the evil men and their dumbassery.
Pope Leo XIII said we the non-clergy people will be responsible for saving the church from the hierarchy one day. What that would look like is to be discovered.
I am a practicing Roman Catholic. And I do NOT like this fake pope one iota. If they arrested him I would cheer.
