I am working sound and screens for a political event in NYC. No idea what it is. I was worried because I thought democrat because of NYC…. As we’re setting up, I see Joe Piscapo walk in… then I hear sirens outside and look and it’s the secret service… Turns out it’s the Republican Party Freedom Gala and MIKE POMPEO is here as a speaker!! PRAISE PEPE!! SUPER KEK for me tonight!!

UPDATE:
Interesting night. Mike is pretty awesome. I got to help out with his lapel mic which was cool and I got to meet his handler (I think). Very nice people. Andrew Geuliani was also there, as well as the owner of WABC radio. It was a really cool night.
A few take always: The night was pretty normal in terms of Republican talking points about the border, spending, how much Biden and the D’s suck and that they are bringing us into communism etc. They gave Mike Pompeo a freedom award, and he spoke for about 30 mins talking about how important it is to vote and how he feels the Rs will take things back in NY and all over. He also told some great insider stories and jokes from his time working for Trump. It was super interesting. He’s a real down to earth guy and is pretty funny as well. They also honored Maurice “Hank” Greenberg for his contributions to the party and his service in building up AIG and his service in WW2. He also got an award which was accepted by his son. The biggest takeaway, for me was when one of the speakers who was hosting, spoke about early voting. In 2020 the early voting turn out was over 1million by Election Day eve. As of tonight, it was only 160k. I don’t know if that was city or state wide. In any case, it shows less faith in the early voting. Also, they said the back of the ballot should be voted NO because all of it fundamentally changes the way voting happens and allows for cheating to be easier. Over all they seem VERY confident they will win a lot of upcoming elections.
Additionally, in the beginning, there was a handful of protesters yelling at everyone who came in the building. Especially the people they knew. They were shooed away pretty quickly. Zero conviction or believe in why they were saying. It was pretty comical. They lasted about 15 mins haha.
Why would Secret Service be there? Was there anything solid to indicate they were actual Secret Service instead of private security?
This is in relation to my comment above, in that in a devolution world, Pompeo might be the actual VP or even the POTUS. The presence of Secret Service would be a big clue, as ex-cabinet members are not protected this way normally.
They could have been private security. I don't know for sure. I assumed SS because of the way everything went down and how professional they were. Clearly no joke. lol
Thanks. Awesome job. Glad you were there!
One of the propositions in NY is to allow illegals to be counted as regular citizens in all sorts of matters, including possibly voting.
