Trump is actually a classical liberal, a believer in individual liberty and Constitutional rights. Conservatives want to conserve practices and traditions. Progressives want progress toward Communism. Classical liberals want to conserve good and useful traditions, let people enjoy their liberty, creating, contributing, and let progress unfold organically, with people being enticed and persuaded to embrace new and appealing inventions, practices, and beliefs, not coerced, deceived, robbed, locked down, and mandated until, sick and broke, they have no other option than to submit.
