You won't like what I am about to say but.... people saw this coming. It wasn't a last minute surprise. If people knew they couldn't ride it out they had options. They could have put the wheels in motion so they wouldn't find themselves here. Change is hard but sometimes doing what's hard in the short term makes things easier in the long term
