How many on this board would actually be willing to cut the chain and get rid of their smartphone? Are you really awake?
For the record, I do not own a smartphone and never have.
I got given one, accepted under protest. Hardly ever turn it on. It is useful but I can happily do without.
Just because you don't turn it on, doesn't mean it isn't on, fren.
True story: Earlier this summer, I was on a short vacation to a place I'd been to many times before. I was in a store looking at some items hanging on the wall. A woman came up to me and started a conversation. She was looking for a rather obscure item and wondered if I'd seen it in the store. I said, no, but I told her I knew a place in the area that might have it, as I'd seen it there at one time. I gave her the name of the store and we talked about it for a bit. I get home a day later, and shortly after I get an email from the store I'd told the woman about. It was an advertisement for the exact same item the woman was looking for. She had a cell phone and I don't. I never gave her any personal identifying information. Coincidence?
Oh, I know. Not much of any interest for any spooks, unless they can interpret tongues :) Will most likely get rid soon and just get a cheap non smart pay as you go.
