My 7yo 2nd grade son might very well have the Coof. Several kids in his class tested positive and he’s got a gnarly cough and cold symptoms for the past several days. Anyway kid’s cold meds aren’t doing much to help and I have some Iver that I ordered from frontline docs a few months back. Anyone know if it’s fully safe for kids to take? And if so, dosage? Take with zinc etc? Thanks very much!
Edit: thanks everyone for your replies. If he’s still bad tomorrow I’ll start him on Iver.
Just look at body weight.
Kids are heavy compared to small dogs.
Small dogs use ivermectin.
Dispense according to weight
Ivermectin dose at 0.2mg/kg for prevention, according to Zelenko protocol ... divide their weight in lb by 2.2 to get kg, then multiply by 0.2 to give dose.
Then determine number of 3mg tablets - whole or halves to give
If using paste, weigh out using micro scales to ensure correct amount is dosed - do not just rely on markings on syringe for dose, especially for small ponies
Eg 100 lb pony /2.2 = 45kg
Dose = 0.2 x 45 = 9mg = 3 x 3mg tabs
If paste is 18.7g/kg Ivermectin = 18.7mg/g Then dose = 9/18.7 = 0.48g paste
