Yet, we continue to sin.....
Our God is a God of second chances...
We fall down, but we get up....
Sin is a very short word but comes with a long sentence. Make sure you have a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with Jesus so you sins are wiped away and can enjoy his fellowship now and forever.
1 John 3:4
Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
Repentance means changing your mind about sin. If you keep sinning as if there's no issue with it, you have no truth in you. If your conscience causes you to feel guilty when you commit a sin, you are on the right path.
Proverbs 7:2
Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.
All of us have sinned. Some of us have changed our minds about sin and turned to Christ. Does that mean we keep doing our own thing and live our lives in sin?
Romans 3:31
Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
There are 10 commandments, and they can be summed up in 2 commandments. Love God with all your heart, mind, and soul (the first 4) and love your neighbor as yourself (the last 6).
Matthew 22:37-40
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Consider 2 Corinthians 5:21. "For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God."

Context in each reference matters. Being upset with religious institutions can leave a bitter taste in ones mouth, I know. I suggest a person start with the study of the Bible, both the history of it and specifically what it itself claims to be. Thinking every reference of an English word refers to the same meaning will be misguiding.
Jesus is God in the flesh come to earth and yes we are all children of God. Two very different things.
Sin is disobedience to God.
