Trying to keep up with Merck, they manufacture Ivermectin and they have a pill that fights COVID, although they haven’t named the ingredients, I suspect it’s probably ivermectin with a couple other additives in it so they can get a good price.
The Japanese government apparently approached Merck to have them do a double blind study on Ivermectin to see how effective it was (not sure who was going to pay for it) but they refused. Apparently they don't want to be involved in providing any additional evidence for Ivermectin being an effective treatment.
Most studies for the effectiveness of Ivermectin on COVID are not double blind because those are expensive and only pharmaceutical companies have the recourses to do these kinds of studies. And so far they have refused. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of studies that show the effectiveness of Ivermectin in treating COVID, however, they are rarely double blind and are just researchers and doctors doing the best they can with the data they are able to get. However, there are a lot of these studies and even a meta-study that combines all of them and tries to draw a conclusion from that (which right now is that Ivermectin is highly likely to be an effective treatment).
