For those who have never been part of negotiating a Union contract let me share some facts. Because you want the public support, you always have at least one non-economic issue on the table and I have always seen it as a " Health and Safety issue". This means that it will be something like staffing levels, working conditions that jeopardize the health of the employees, or yes mandating an experimental injection. Additionally, there is also the economic factors which include pay or health care cost. While I am not a part of this contract negotiations and do not have current specific knowledge, I have done contract negotiations for my company for 28 years and yes was on a strike line for over 2 weeks before we settled. The reason is because the belief is you won't get public support for just money, especially during an economic struggle that we are currently facing in this country. I would also assume that the mandating of the jab could be part of the issue as well as we know that the media would not support them. We are trying to get more information about the reasons but figured I would share. Please remember that there is also current strikes at John Deere, Kelloggs plants and Huntington Cabel hospital ( which is 900 nurses and medical staff). Seems to be a lot of Strikesgiving going on in our country.
I never said it was about jab. Health Insurance companies are in the middle of open enrollment (I.e., when you sell/renew your company’s insurance for your employees. Hard to sell a company insurance when your nurses are on strike
Dude, the worker shortage has been exacerbated by the mandates, this gives the union TONS more negotiation power than they previously had, and mentioning the jabs is too political. I bet you any money the mandate comes up right away behind closed doors.
Go on every Google Maps and trash every clinic you can find with reviews containing some horrible story about the place and include names of every negative treatment of employees and malpractice suit you can dig up on the place without linking it you'll be banned.
Talk about how horribly they treat the staff there and say there's a Nationwide Walkout Nov 15.
Love em or hate them.... if your are gonna be in a union this is what you have to do to keep it strong .

My neighbor works for Kaiser (not a nurse) and has been on strike for weeks.
