Why are they doing away with the current pcr test at the end of the year?

I'm not sure I've heard this anywhere but x22, but he keeps saying that the pcr test will be replaced and the flu will be separated from covid. Why is that? Are there some honest people within the govt that are getting this done or what is the purpose? X22 makes it sound like they've painted themselves into a corner and that this hurries the timeline on them getting everyone vaxxed.
