Why is it your job to tell your father what he can watch and what he can't?

Let's say you watch Russel Brand and get the idea that the Corrupt Criminal Network that runs the world is somehow the same thing as 'Capitalism'. Does your father get to step in and somehow stop you from watching Brand?
