If ya’ll can remember they tried this a few months ago but didn’t implement this due to major pushback. The fact they are caving in like this is proof they’re running scared. Removing dislikes basically kills the built in vetting of the platform. Creators will not want to make YouTube videos. Resentment distrust and suspicion of manipulation- its out there in the open.
