There was a case in the 1950s that I'm very surprised has not been brought up by the liberals yet. I'm blanking on the name of the case - but after coffee I'll search it and put it up.
Anyways, in the 1950s there was a case where a guy in his 30s who had pretty bad PTSD from WW2 went into a ghetto and was just walking around trying to provoke people. After about 30 minutes he got attacked by three guys and pulled out his .45 and shot all three and calmly waited for the cops to come and said it was self defense.
The case seemed open and closed and the cops didn't even charge him at the time. But a few weeks later the DA was reviewing the police reports after the wife of one of the men who was shot raised hell at City Hall. The DA looked through the case, and saw that the guy had a history of starting fights and a few domestic assault cases.
The DA talked to the guy and he told a story of self defense and it seemed pretty basic, until the DA asked him what he was doing in that neighborhood. The guy said he was just walking around killing time. Apparently the dude had driven an hour to a different city knowing there was a really rough neighborhood there.
The DA put together a case showing intent of the guy to get into a fight. During the trial he asked the guy if he commonly carried his gun. The guy says, nope, I never carry, but I knew it was a rough neighborhood. So then again, the dude had no reason to be going to that neighborhood and he went WAY out of his way to go there and carried his gun which he never did. I'm pretty sure he got a second degree murder charge and sentenced to 30 years or so. Pretty sure he also got out early on parole after like 10 years.
