A few years back I was selected for jury duty in a stupid case where neighbors were feuding. Both lawyers were total morons and asking stupid questions, and failing to ask obvious questions that should have been asked. When we on the jury were deliberating we were all dumbfounded by how stupid the lawyers were and how impossible it was to come to a verdict based on what we heard. I asked if the judge could come in and give us guidance (I was the foreman). The judge, a very qualified and competent younger woman came and answered our questions, after which I asked her, "Is it my imagination or were both lawyers incompetent?" She rolled her eyes and said, "you have no idea..." She told us that it's so easy to become a lawyer anymore that there are tons of them out there, and most of the ones she encounters are incompetent idiots now.
