The security detail can be overwhelmed by numbers if they don't have air support. If they didn't have the support they needed, they could have been navy seals and still gotten overran. Our ground forces are really good at staying alive and holding ground until the cavalry arrives. But if the cavalry ain't coming, and they have to hold on, they will eventually get taken out.
The way to beat our soldiers in an assault is to cut off their air support and then shoot anybody carrying an ammo box. But it's better to just force them to fight a war of attrition, because the way they fight is stupid for an insurgency. They always do their raids at 2-3 am in the morning, you can set your watch by it. They always have their guys running on like 2 hours of sleep and they're doing stupid shit like 24 hour shifts before sending you out on a mission with no rest in between. Just cut off their ammo resupply and you can beat them pretty easy. Army hand to hand combatatives are a joke.

Hand to hand... isn't
I'll headbutt the fuck out your face with my helmet and night vision mount. I know, I've seen me do it.
