The security detail can be overwhelmed by numbers if they don't have air support. If they didn't have the support they needed, they could have been navy seals and still gotten overran. Our ground forces are really good at staying alive and holding ground until the cavalry arrives. But if the cavalry ain't coming, and they have to hold on, they will eventually get taken out.

We do just fine without air support, tbh.
All depends on how much ammo y'all can carry on you. If I remember correctly Mogadishu involved about 10 miles of Navy seals running for their lives.
