So have you tried "galaba" yet? (Egyptian fava bean breakfast bean-dip; a version of "foul" pronounced fool). It's the "National dish of Egypt". Each mideast country has their own fava bean recipe, and Egyptian version has some tomato paste mixed-in. In my 7 years in Saudi I'd hit certain restaurants for "Saudi breakfast" and galaba was one of my favs. The Sudanese version rocks too with chopped hardboiled eggs & chopped tomato. Interestingly most fava beans are grown in California then shipped to mideast. Americans don't eat them much due to their corn-like husk being indigestible thereby making for ugly mess in toilet. Fava beans are in many people's opinion the most delicious beans/legumes and can concur. Try them...(with chianti 😂 );
