Everyone there is leaning left (I assume) and 90% of the "music" is graphics depictions of sex, rape, sodomy, suicide, etc. How the heck do I stay clean and keep bad thoughts out of my head? I'm a not musically inclined guy and earbuds never fit in my ears.

Dear OP, I wear swimmer's ear-plugs at my place of work to block out the trash-noise being poured out onto us through the loud-speakers of the in-store sound-system. The excuse they use is "we have to hear the in-store pages". I'm just waiting for someone to demand that I stop using the ear-plugs. I already have a work-place injury lawyer in contact.
Yes, it is difficult and I regularly soak my ear-plugs in dilute hydrogen-peroxide and I often switch them out with spares. The big-ole sound-suppressor ear-muffs might be better for you. Yes, I am looking for other work but for now, it's all I have (and so far, they aren't demanding a clot-shot).
My take on the loud music is: this is the Admin's way of harassing/bullying everyone (including customers) unfortunate enough to have to shop or work there. I LOVE the local crew and most of the customers but the upper admin-group (scoundrels from another part of the state) are virtue-signaling snakes. More and more, I am convinced they are evil. By God's Grace, this job is just a stop on the way for me.
Prayers already going up for you and for others in a situation similar to ours.
Awesome post.
As someone whose ears are always On The Job, I use Honeywell Laser Lite ear plugs quite frequently to give myself some quiet. Been using them for over a decade with great success.

As an Electronics Engineer, I'd be tempted to sabotage the equipment. Usually, the simplest way is to pour sugary liquid into it. Not that I would advocate doing that, of course. Purely a hypothetical scenario.
