The part of the article in front of the paywall is informative. He makes a good argument for using the paywall, but for me to get an accurate take on news anymore, I need to follow at least a couple dozen independent journalists. If I paid a $5 monthly subscription for each one of them, news consumption would get pricey indeed. I know they each need to earn a living, and rightly want to remain free of corporate media outlets, but what to do?
