"It's time for me to pray to the wooden cross", said no Christian, ever.
Never.
Not once.
Now you're just making shit up.
Or Catholic. Thats who bows to crosses....with Jesus still on it---a blasphemy.
Indeed, when the Bible says every Christian should bear his cross, it is referring to denying one's self to obey all the commandments of God. There was no instance in the Bible when Christians used and revered two pieces of wood stuck together as a literal cross. Christians and everyone else during that time regarded the literal wooden cross as an instrument of torture and punishment.
Bowing to Jesus Christ is not a sin.
Let's take this silliness to it's natural end: if the symbol of Christianity is idol worship then the physical bible and the Written Word is also idol worship because all three are symbols of Christianity and Jesus Christ.
But that's fucking stupid because no Christian worships pieces of wood or prays to a book.
Idol worship is a sin, but what you and Hortance can't seem to comprehend is the cross is neither an idol nor worshiped. It's a symbol in exactly the same was as written language or hand gestures. It's a symbol in the same way as Christians who have photos of their children on their office desks or in their wallets... and no, you don't know any Christians who leaves tribute to photos of their children.
You missed the point. The crucifix is a celebration of the murder of Jesus. The cross is great....THATS a symbol. The crucifix is a re-enactment.
