The media seems to shut the conversation down quick. Remember the days when a high school athlete dropping dead on a field was national news. Now it is a 15 second clip on the local station. If it happens on an NBA floor or NFL Field it might make the news for a week, but the "experts" will claim anything but vax..

Korey Stringer died in training camp 20 years ago. It was a huge story in the sports news cycle and the Vikings retired his jersey months later. The NFLPA leveraged his death ever since for easier practices.

If it happened now, it would be a sports page footnote.
