Hey frens! I just wanted to share my recent (and current) experience with a bad cold / Chyna virus. I woke up feeling sick on Sunday morning, 11/14. I immediately took a dose of IVM, and my regular regimen of vitamins, upping the doses of C, D3, and zinc. I took mucinex every 12 hours, and made sure to cough up and spit out any phlegm. I also took epsom salt baths twice per day. Monday was difficult. Very painful cough and sore nose, with sneezing, and headache. Towards the end of the day, I began to lose my sense of taste, but it only seemed to be noticeable with hot pepper spices. I developed a low grade fever last night, and it broke this morning. Still doing the same regimen, and I’m feeling a million times better today. My girlfriend was surprised how much better I sound today as well.
Was it the Chyna virus? Not sure, because I didn’t get tested (not like it can differentiate illnesses anyway), but I will say that it hit me hard and fast. The meds and treatments I used really seemed to do the trick.
I hope you’re all staying safe and healthy. Love you frens!
Random thought I had while reading your post: Hot peppers are really good for any kind of head cold or flu or even covid. Perhaps the loss of taste/smell is so that you can eat more of them?
Possibly so. I lost some of my sense of smell as well, but I think most of that was due to sinus congestion. I put some crushed red pepper flakes on my dinner last night and couldn’t taste any heat, so I added nearly four times as much as I previously did, and was finally able to get a hint of heat. My girlfriend was pretty shocked with the amount of pepper I added and the fact that I could barely taste any of it lol
I grow a lot of different hot peppers and then pickle the extras. Jars on jars. I snack on them every day. Crushed red I can add a TBSP to any dish and it doesn’t even compare to my jalapenos and those aren’t even close to my picquin.
