Climate Change is my favourite.

It is strange, when someone claims to have had six feet of "climate change" dumped on their drive overnight the great and good are all over it remind us that it is only weather. Climate Change is very difficult to measure. It takes tens of thousands of thermometers strategically placed all over the world, including the oceans, to register the change and then it needs a complex averaging algorithm to calculate the actual value and tell us whether the temperature is increasing or decreasing.

Then they tell us that it affects bird migration. So the pesky birds can be sitting somewhere in Southern Africa and they can delay their flights back to Europe for the summer based on the global average temperature! How come they can detect the warming of an Arctic night much better than we can and with no thermometers at all?
