I work in child care, and one of the little ones had her 18 month shots last week. Ever since then she has been inconsolable and non-stop screaming (the pain scream), hitting the other kids, hitting us teachers, just absolutely miserable. She can be sassy, but never mean. There was none of her usual sweet silliness last week.
Her mother messaged yesterday that she was staying home with a cough. An hour later, she frantically called my boss saying that little one was in an ambulance on the way to the hospital. They couldn’t get her heart rate under control, so she was helicoptered to the local Children’s Hospital. Her heart stopped on the way and they brought her back. No news on when she will be out of the hospital.
I looked up what the 18 month shots are. Hep A Hep B DTaP Polio And an optional Flu shot, which the child was given.
Every child I work with, after their shots, is HORRIBLE. It’s because they cannot communicate how their bodies feel. The worst is the infants. Stop the planet, I want to get off. 😢
That's an awful lot of shots for a little one in one day. Our vet told us our dog had to now get flu shots to be kenneled or groomed! We went ahead and got him the flu shot and he gets an anti anxiety pill before grooming. The poor thing was out of it and not barking or acting "normal' for 72 hours. I was so upset and called about it. Finally he was back to "normal". Now the vet keeps sending me emails/postcards for the dog to get flu vaccine 2, 3. I am not doing that!!
Vets are pushing vaccines on pets just like what doctors are doing to children. Heard many stories of adverse reactions in dogs after vaccines including death. Bordetella shots are absolutely unnecessary.
Yeah F these vaccines for my dog. I was stupid and got him his shots as a pup although I did space them out. But my boy got major kennel cough despite getting vaccinated. It’s like the Covid vaccine - total garbage. No more vaccines for my boy apart from rabies.
Is that the “kennel cough” vax? Bordetella? My dog almost died from the vax. The first time she was ok. The 2nd time she came down with a severe case of kennel cough. Could hardly breathe. Had to go to an emergency vet, it was a dire situation for a bit. The ER vet said the same thing happened to her dog. Be careful. They’re always pushing stuff. It’s almost worse than with medical drs.
No, he has gotten the Bordetella shot for years. It was definitely a "flu" shot. I won't be getting the next "2" injections for him.
