I see both sides of the argument, but I stand with the OP on this one. Why do what God has specifically condemned. Building a tall building is ok, building a building to reach God was the sin, not the specified height. This seems dumb.

Should they bring back child sacrifices as well to give you a history lesson? Point is they are teaching about a "bad thing" by doing the "bad thing" all over again.
