Yes, I know this. I’m not speaking only of the 1860s. History doesn’t stop there, and had Lincoln not gone around killing everyone for secession from the Union, slavery would have DIED OUT EVENTUALLY because of machinery yet to be invented, as well as the abolitionists’ influence. He didn’t give a damn about slaves and if you’re as well-read as you claim, you KNOW what he’s said on record about the “inferior” blacks. He was a tyrant and used the black plight as a political tool, just like the Left does today. Hell, his work as a lawyer involved returning a runaway slave to his master!
Yeah, this really isn't rocket science. Slave population - increased. Cash crop production from slave labor - increased. Slave based economic probability - increased. It's amazing how ignorant so many people are about antebellum sectional politics.
I did not say all human hands have been eliminated by machinery, so don’t be disingenuous. I’m in the Deep South and I still hire hands to set and cut tobacco, so I know, and can speak further when I say machinery has replaced MUCH manual labor. NOT ALL. (And what does current abhorrent Chinese slavery have to do with this?) Look, I really don’t feel like wasting any more time on this. I know what I know and I’m not taking historical lessons from you or anyone else steeped in yankee victory. Lincoln was cabal, and deserved a bullet to the brain. I’ll not respond any further, I’ve got Mass to attend. Pax
