It was a head fake. Is Epstein connected to more people or is Maxwell? She was the one in between the “buyers” and “sellers”. Gotham is the real face of nyc
Gotham is Chicago IMHO. NYC politics pale in comparison to Chicago politics and ne'er do wells. Especially in the 30's when Batman was kicking ass and taking names.
Although Batman's Gotham City has been portrayed as being similar to Chicago for decades now, it was originally based on and named after NYC (which has been nicknamed "Gotham" for centuries).
Also, Superman's Metropolis was not based on NYC, but Toronto, Canada (birthplace of Superman co-creator Joe Shuster), and named after Fritz Lang's "Metropolis" (1927).
