I have said from the start of this that The Church has failed us. I went to church when it was outside but stayed in my car because I wouldn't wear a mask. Services have moved inside. I will not wear a mask, so no church this winter. It's so, so sad, and without the Mass, life feels empty. I miss the music also....a lot.
It might be a good idea to discuss this article with church leader.

During a time when I lived up in North Florida, I started visiting this home where some non-violent schizophrenic people were housed/treated. I became friends with a young adult boy, and man around 45. They both seemed normal when on meds, but I never seen the off meds. They both were very polite, and well mannered.
The older of the two, was actually from a pretty well to do family. His dad was a big judge in south Florida, and you could tell he had a proper southern upbringing. And the younger boy had a happy disposition, and a good sense of humor, but both were stuck at that dismal converted hotel 24x7 among fellow men, many of which were in much worse mental condition. I tried to "Do as I would be done by". To treat them the way I hoped someone would treat me, or my son, if we were in that position. It was not a one way ministry. I grew in my faith, and I tried to help the grow in theirs.
So, I started taking the two of them to church every Sunday. I would never leave them unattended, and if I did have to go to the restroom, which happens rarely, I had an arrangement to have someone else keep an eye on them. Every time they were in church, they always behaved very properly, and they contributed during the Sunday school period.
Well it turns out that some of the residents of this mental care facility were there under lawful order. The church leadership having learned this expressed to me, that they thought it was to much of a liability for me to be bringing these people to church. They even expressed some angle that had to do with the churches insurance cost. After all, what if one of them was a child molester, they asked. They suggested that I should stop bringing them to church. I could hardly believe their callous attitude toward these poor men.
I understood how this could be a concern, but was very disappointed that they believed the only way to alleviate the concern was to cease bringing them to church. I, on the other hand simply suggested that I inquire with the facility management as to any issues the person my have that would make them a risk to others, and that we have someone always watch over them, never leave them alone.
I ended up carrying my argument, but still that whole thing left a bad impression on me as to the mission of the church.
