To be fair, it wasn't originally a bass pro shop. Originally, it was some bizarre football stadium built by the city of memphis for a spectacle. It flopped for obvious reasons, and they were stuck with a billion dollar building, so they decided to lease it out, and gave Bass Pro Shop an amazing deal if they would agree to remodel the building. Hence, this is the "best" Bass Pro Shop. Largest inventory, on site hotel, indoor shooting range and skeet range, restaurants, etc.
So, didn't start out this way. I'm sure there were evil intentions from the start, but it flopped and they did this to make some money after their plans fell through.
Came here to type exactly the same thing. Happened in Sacramento as well when a pyramid shaped mortgage lender went bankrupt and a retail shop moved into the deeply discounted empty pyramid.
Memphis grizzlies of the NBA used this venue as their home stadium. There was a crystal skull placed at the top of it back then. Later Johnny Morris decided if they caught a huge catfish out of the Mississippi River right next to the stadium, then he’d buy it and make it into an indoor swamp. They caught the fish and the rest is history.
Yall should check out the Mickelsen Safeguard Complex, which cost a whopping 6 Billion in 1976 to build and the day after it came to full operation it closed down. Very strange story and very strange design as it looks like the illuminati pyramid with the capstone missing.
BASS PRO SHOP is tied into some gigantic time share corporation. Someone should look into that entity - "Follow The Money" - and i'm sure we won't be surprised it lead's to Black Rock or Soros in some fashion.

For awhile in the late 80’s- early 90’s? It was the venue for traveling exhibitions— saw Ramses ( Pharoah) exhibit there in 87
Umm... this is in Memphis, which is named after a city in Egypt, so that's why they have the pyramid thing.
Exactly
Petty sure there was a Q post about Bass Pro Shops.
Just Kidding !!

I like how they have 6 foot high lettering saying "ENTER".
They probably have 6 foot high letters on the other side saying "EXIT".
Doesn't say much for the intelligence of their customer base.
