Don't give them any more reasons. Say something to the effect of "after submitting my initial request, I have experienced a hostile work environment regarding my sincerely held religious beliefs. I cannot provide any further explanation for fear of retaliation or harrassment."
Your goal here is NOT to keep your job. You won't win that battle. They aren't looking for reasons to give you an exemption. They are simply trying to cover their legal ass by going through the process. What you need to do is give yourself as much firepower as possible for the next round of the war. And that is going to be the lawsuit phase.
