For the first time in my life I am finally addressing my same sex attraction. I am on the path to a Godly recovery, I know its not going to be easy. This is why I am asking for prayer. Whatever you feel like praying, please do. Strength, courage, accountability, or whatever encouragement you can send my way. I love this community and I have an awesome people in the Church that are walking along side of me. Love you all, wish me luck, the path is narrow and hard to stay on but I do not want to keep falling to this sin nature I am struggling with. Thanks for reading and/or praying over me.

God made you perfect. Don't change who you are because of man's interpretation of organized religion.
Good luck.
I will pray that you find clarity in your search for inner peace, as I have.
I submit there are a lot more of people like you and I on here than you realize, it is just not popular to say so...
Please do not lie and tell someone God made them perfect.
God made us unique, and valuable, and capable... But not perfect.
If we walked around thinking we were perfect this world would be trash.
I understand your point. I doubt anyone (including myself) thinks they are perfect. But IMO you are BORN perfect, the way God intended. Then the world happens to you.
But my heart bleeds for the OP because people who police his thoughts and immutable personal idiosyncrasies have made him feel like some sort of mistake or pariah.
He has been led by people, not God to believe he is somehow wrong in his own skin. I really appreciate his journey and desire not to be attracted to the same sex, life would be way easier if we were all the same. But we are not. We are unique, just as you stated.
I'm not sure if you believe in the Bible, but it says we are even born imperfect. We are a fallen creation. Please note, I'm not saying babies are born sin-stained. I don't agree with the Catholics there, I believe someone actually has to SIN to be a SINNER lol.
But if you look at my comment to the OP, I tell them the same thing that you might be trying to say; that they are not a freak or dysfunctional. They should never be convinced to look at themselves in disgust, or fear that others should do so, since they are a loved creation of God's, who He dearly wants to come boldly to him in Jesus.
The homosexual DESIRE and nature are a sign of being a fallen creation (which we all are. I'm as sinful and broken as the next guy). It is in the ACTING on these desires where sin is introduced. This is EXPLICITLY talked about by Jesus and the Bible as a whole.
I'm just making sure we don't feed lies to this person in their time of vulnerability and openness, because lies are really useful for defending the fortresses of sin we build in our lives. This person is clearly taking steps to shatter one of those fortresses, let's not lend them more defenses.
I hope this makes sense. It may appear that Christians think we humans are horrible things, especially after I describe all this to you. On the contrary, we are COMMANDED by the King of the Universe Jesus Christ to love each and every human being, including our enemies, as if they were Him. We just need to have a comprehensive understanding of our nature and tendencies.
Thank you for your patience and time, God bless you on your travels.
Thank you for your thoughtful feedback. Much appreciated. I'm definitely no scholar on the bible but I have an understanding of God/Universe.
To me the bible is a book, inspired by God but heavily edited/interpreted/censored by people, often with the intent to control and guilt people into certain ways of thinking.
All that aside... I understand the acting on the desire thing... but put another way people who are inclined towards the same sex should never enjoy sexual pleasure? I don't buy that and I also do not believe that is how God works....
I can't help but push back when people are made to believe they are wrong when they cannot help what they are attracted too.
My only hope is that the OP finds the peace and happiness they seek.
Bless you as well and have a terrific Thanksgiving! ☮️
