Could be. I know one thing. Everything is about free will. If we have no way of using our free will to know the truth than there is no free will.
BTW the Roman emperor did not edit it. The new "church" did hijack it.
I see how the Word of God changes peoples lives. I also see how the churches twist the Word of God for their own ends.
What I read and dwell on in the bible resonates with my spirit What I hear in churches does not always resonate.
We do not need the bible to walk with God. We need a heart that seeks after God.
With a heart that seeks after God we can seek that which resonates with what He is showing us.
When I find what I think is a contradiction in the bible I dwell on it and I allow God to show me correct way to see things.
An example. Many churches teach things like Calvinism or Wesley's predestination.
To keep it simple one side believes in predestination (some are selected to be saves) and the other believes that all can be saved
They all use scripture to justify their position.
Since I believe that any contradiction I find in the bible is an error that much be worked through.
First I consider that I do not understand the contest.
Second I consider that the translation may be wrong (Daniel 9)
Third which I have not come across is that scripture is wrong.
Now the Calvin vs Wesley people. Both say that one or the other has to be true.
Either God predestines or he does not. Both sides are dealing with a "small" God. G
After dwelling on this my answer is simple. God paved the way for all. As far as God is concerned all are "saved".
Sin is no longer the problem because sin was nailed to the cross. God completely removed sin from the equation.
Sin died on the cross when Jesus cried out My God My God why have you forsaken me?
God did not forsake Jesus because His word plainly says He will NEVER forsake us.
That was sin crying out That God did something wrong. Just like in the garden when Adam said The woman YOU gave me caused me to sin.
We have free will. The choice is ours it will ALWAYS be ours. We can choose to trust Him or we can choose to live in fear. That is all that free will is.
So keeping it simple. I believe that bible as written (not as translated) is the Word of God because to resonates with the inner voice that first spoke to me and told me to seek Him.
