Naked attempt at damage control after word has gotten around the world that Africa, with very low vaccination rates, also has very low covid cases. As we all know by now, HCQ is sold over the counter in African countries as a prophylaxis against malaria. And it obviously works.

Dr. Simone Gold of AFLD pointed this out last January. I'm surprised it's taken so long for this information to hit the mainstream.
