I think we're making the same point. control of populations is only something a sociopathic "elite" would have the hubris to attempt. they fail because they lack a moral compass, not because they lack 'power.'

the choosing of mates is generally associated improved benefits for offspring. for example, in humans, couples that have "chemistry" have children with more resilient immune systems.
