People always look back in retrospect and wonder how things happened, or why they didnβt see something coming. Cloud computing will be one of these things.
In no scenario is it a bright idea to store all of your data in another country with a company that is administering from a third country. Itβs not secure or even accessible if something goes wrong, you have almost no legal recourse, and itβs vulnerable to theft. But itβs a little bit cheaper, it has fancy marketing, and it has the full support of the establishment. Cant wait for people to be bewildered when something goes wrong.
I worked in a doctor's office several years ago, just when it was required to have computerized health records. I talked to the doc about it (he thought it was a huge pain in the butt), and he wanted to know about the cloud. I told him what it really was and it kinda freaked him out.
