I like the spirit, but this is ineffective. QR codes can withstand up to 30% corruption and still work. You'd have to fill in about 1/3 of the area to make the code not work anymore.
I bet there are specific areas on the QR codes that are paramount to functionality. It would be interesting to know what those areas are.
Most likely the 3 "eyes" in the corners which are used for orientation, but I'm not super confident in that.
