There are some things we willingly give up for the sake of convenience. This is one of them.
I think the bigger issue is getting these government orgs in line - they work for us, not the other way around. Private companies shouldn’t get our data to sell and broker and public officials shouldn’t have access to it either unless actively investigating a felony.
How can you disprove a text message source, with another source? I will admit there’s a degree of entertainment that the YouTubers engage in, but that’s all news media. You can’t fault them for earning money to do what they’re doing.

We need to accept that not everything is as it seems. You can still support Trump and believe everything’s going to plan, and yet disagree with specific topics or decisions. This forum has always been first to call out Trump when we didn’t agree with everything he said, why would that stop now?

This is actually not a big deal, OpenAI also puts out Codex source code. Police can enter your home, seize evidence and arrest you, without your consent. What’s the difference? This is an accepted process and requires a judge to sign off. Digital surveillance should follow the same pattern. I think policy reform is the bigger issue here. I don’t have any problem with police making the world safer. It’s when they overstep that I have issue.
