They didn't a closed government committee decided.

There was No Election!

The Parliament may have passed the motion there were no other candidates - that is not an election. The House is 100% just one party, the 'leader of the opposition' was also elected as a member of the ruling party, but crossed the floor to provide a 'nominal' opposition.

The people of Barbados had no say in either the move to a republic NOR who was to be president.

A banana republic - I have family in Barbados!
