For your own dipshit logic to work one would have to assume that the man most plugged in to the workings of the deep state didn't have a clue.

What makes you think Trump was "plugged in to the workings of the DS" back in the 90's? It was my understanding that the military approached Trump and asked him to run for president. Is it not plausible that he didn't know then what he knows now thanks to military briefings?
