Agreed. If they would just stop dumping water for the Delta Smelt, there would be ample supply to weather a drought. I worked for Los Angeles Dept. of Water and Power for 36 yrs, and we constantly went through this drought threat because the State Water Board is so inept at managing the water supply. I'm in Tennessee now, and there is plenty of water.
The people who are responsible for managing reservoirs use the same idiots who forecast about global warming to do their long term forecasting, and they are usually incorrect. For example in 2017, the long term forecast for CA was continued drought like conditions, so at LADWP we held water in our reservoirs to prepare for another year of drought, then BAM. We had the wettest year on record for our watershed, and we couldn't get rid of water fast enough.
