They aren’t just atheists, they are anti-theists.

An atheist might say, “I don’t believe in God, but there is still a lot of common sense wisdom in The Bible that is worth following.”

An anti-theist will say, “Not only do I not believe in God, but I am actively opposed to God. Therefore everything in The Bible must be wrong and I must do the opposite because if God is wrong then doing the opposite of God must be right.”

I think a lot of these anti-theists are starting to see the downward spiral they are on opposing God, but their pride and ego is so strong they cannot admit it and instead just keep doubling down.
