This is possibly a weird question but would you say being a chemical engineer has a wide range of applications and benefits that you do or could benefit from? It's a profession that I've heard is very useful but I figured I'd ask seeing as you are one.
Rotflmao. You’d be surprised but there aren’t a whole lot of practical applications in the outside world. I have clarified/treated farm ponds for friends and swimming pools when things went wonky on them. Other than that I could do a lot of destructive things with what I know - if I needed to.

I’ve become a pretty good plumber and hydroponic gardener along the way which I’m sure have a thing or two to do with my day job.
Become a contractor or auto mechanic if you’d like to gain practical skills to help other people and make some cash on the side. I haven’t had anybody call me on a weekend for emergency services besides my employer/industrial customers 😀
