They've been combining human DNA with animals' DNA for a long time. At least since the '80s, but probably since at least the '60s.

The cases I know involve splicing tissue (of fetus fresh and never frozen) with animals to create beings like humanized mice, which they used to test these vaxx supposedly.

I remember they did those trials where they scalped aborted babies and made their hair grow on the backs of rats. Seriously so effed up that I died a little more inside that day.
