Do you have any lower round mags for the pedes in Cali?
That is a lot of great information. However I still disagree with the idea that masks are entirely worthless. The usual store-bought cheap variety will leak around the sides about 30 to 40%. It's understandable how that will not protect anyone. However, a properly configured mask with good filter material added and attention to reducing the leakage cannot fail to reduce the respiratory droplets that are airborne. I am not concerned with individual virus particles that may somehow find their way to being airborne without riding on a respiratory droplet. From my studies I have come to believe that an intact immune system can easily handle up to 300 of these individual particles a day without problem. It is probably advantageous for your immune system to receive small samples of the viruses traveling around, so it has something to do. A respiratory droplet is the size of a planet next to an individual particle. There could be thousands or millions of particles of virus traveling on a respiratory droplet.
Whatever we may think about masks, scientists have carried out many experiments to determine their efficacy. Thay also looked at them to see if they caused issues all of their own.
Here is a list of over 90 links to studies and articles demonstrating that masks are of little use and can be dangerous. Most of the links are to published scientific papers.
One issue is that the holes in the masks are enormous compared to the size of a virus. If you enlarged a virus to golfball size then the holes in a typical mask would be about 35 feet across so it is like trying to keep mosquitoes out using a chain link fence.
Another issue is if they did actually work they would be collecting viruses all the time they were being worn and so would be seriously hazardous waste at the end of the day. That amount of infectious material would need to be disposed of very carefully. Do we do that?
