I had almost the same problem years ago. I found listerine the best local pain relief. I tried vodka (I never drink) but found the listerine equally effective and more tolerable.
BUT, the problem was actually infection. I went to the dentist and he wouldn’t pull the tooth until the infection went away. He prescribed antibiotics and within 24 hours of my first dose, the pain was gone. I still had the wisdom tooth pulled, but it was nbd once the infection was gone.
If you don’t have any appropriate antibiotics at your house, you should perhaps consider how unfair it is you can buy without a prescription the exact same antibiotics for your fish that a human takes, but you can’t buy them legally for a human. Crazy, right?
I have no idea what antibiotic would be best if my poor fish’s jaw started hurting.
I’d have to Google it. Once you know though, any pet store online or local ought to have it.
